Butte Falls is making sewer system improvements to resolve non-compliance issues at its wastewater plant due to the aging condition of its wastewater treatment system. In addition, the project will enable the town to address new bio-solid management standards, which require more extensive treatment measures. Business Oregon awarded the town of Butte Falls a Community Development Block Grant of $1 million for the $1.483 million wastewater system improvement project. Other funding sources included a loan from Department of Environmental Quality. The improvements to Butte Falls' sewer system will bring its wastewater treatment plant in compliance with the state and federal clean water acts.
