The Port of Cascade Locks Provides the Perfect Location for Expanding Local Business

The Renewable Workshop and the port of Cascade Locks are partnering to expand the company's operations and add 65 new jobs within the Cascade Locks community.

The port of Cascade Locks was awarded a $6.6m loan to build a 40k square-foot industrial building within their existing business park. Once completed, this new building will be leased to The Renewable Workshop. Focused on reducing the amount of clothing that is sent to landfills, The Renewable Workshop has diverted 200,000 pounds of discarded textiles by sorting, washing, repairing, and reselling items. Their goal is to move 1 million pounds by 2025.

Renewable WorkshopWith the lease of this new building, The Renewable Workshop will be able to expand all aspects of their operation, distribution, processing, photo studio, store front, and warehousing. By spring 2021, the region will welcome 65 new and full time jobs, in addition to The Renewable Workshop's existing workforce of 24 employees.

Cascade Locks is a small rural town located in the Columbia Gorge, the prospect of adding 65-full time jobs to the area is very exciting for the community.
